Outback Cattle Station – Horses, Cows & Dust

October 10, 2016

Gee it’s been a while since I took you out and about on the station… hasn’t it?  So of course I jumped at the chance when Mr Chardy asked me to help take hay out to some yards.  It was a quick 120km round trip.  Well actually it wasn’t that quick because Mr Chardy had to jump on a horse and help out in the yards so I took that as my cue to capture the lot on camera (and when I say camera I mean my phone) just for you guys.

But before I take you out to the yards here is a little clip of my big boy – Tom, 11 yrs old – on his horse “Roadie”.  I used to beat myself up and think I was a bad Mum because I didn’t ride horses and my kids were missing out and would never be able to ride a horse and blah blah blah, but it turns out he is ok, and can ride a horse and all is not lost, see…

These cows boarded a few road trains yesterday… they have gone on a little holiday.  First stop Winton where they will have a spell and then board the cattle train (yep, seriously – a train train) bound for Dinmore Brisbane – to the meat works.

I’m on cooking duties again today.  Tomorrow the kids, Miss Bobbie and I head to town for 4 nights.  The big boys are participating in Rock Pop Mime, they are so excited.  Of course any excuse to catch up with friends… both theirs and mine!

How was your weekend?
Tell me one thing that is exciting you at the moment or making you happy.

I’m starting a new crochet project this week. Looking forward to doing something more productive with my spare time than scrolling through my phone. 😉
I love these kind of posts Chards (and I totally believe Toyota should get on board!)
