Chards on Tour

November 2, 2016

I am going on another road trip this weekend.  I will have 2 co-pilots with me this time (Mrs Savvy B & Bec from next door) which is a good thing because I think this road trip is going to be at least 1500km – give or take a few km’s – and a 2 day deal.  Oh and we are heading interstate again – to Western Australia, yep – no biggie.  We will drive for 2 days have 1 day in Kunners and then drive for 2 days to get home.  We may well be jet lagged too because Kununurra is one and a half hours behind us here in the NT.  Look, this is where we will be going…

road-trip

Actually Mrs Savvy B & Bec will be coming in from QLD, so add a bit to that red line and you will have their trip.

You see I have been asked along as a guest speaker to the No Borders Rural Ladies Day over in Kununurra.  Chards is going on Tour.  Well not really but in my mind I am some big time public speaker, ha ha ha.  My good friend Sal from Gumnut Designz is also one of the speakers and she really is kind of a big deal.  Me – not so much, I will just be blabbing on about how I tap away on the internet talking to total strangers – just kidding, don’t worry I don’t really think of you guys as strangers, we really are friends, right?

Of course we have had rain.  Of course we have.  Every single time I want to travel somewhere it rains.  Mrs Savvy B and Bec were supposed to be driving over here this afternoon ready for an early departure tomorrow.  However there was a heap of rain between us and them.  Their chopper is over here at the moment mustering and Lach said there is water laying on the road for a good long stretch.  So they will have to fly across.  I think Lach will have to bring them over one by one because that’s how we roll – never say never!  No change that – just had a message from Mrs SB saying Mr SB will be flying them across in the plane… it is all happening here my friends.

Don’t worry, I will be photographing, instagramming and facebooking the absolute sh*t out of this tour so you don’t miss one single moment.  I won’t actually be able to post anything for the first 7 hours of the trip, until we get into mobile service at the Daly Waters Roadhouse – the Hi Way Inn, but that’s ok, you can sit tight until lunch time can’t you?

This is going to be such a fun trip, I am so excited.  Guess I had best finish my power point presentation today.

Oh and speaking of bloggers on Tour I don’t think I have told you about my own up and coming Ladies Day – the Barkly Women’s Day.  I organise this event twice a year and it is held at The Barkly Homestead (a roadhouse in the middle of nowhere between Camooweal and Tennant Creek).  Anyway, I will get home from Kununurra on Monday unpack and repack and head off again on Friday for this event which will be held on Saturday the 12th.

Now the exciting part is that 3 of my favourite bloggers are travelling up as our guest speakers – Mrs Woog from Woogsworld, Beth from Baby Mac, Nikki from Styling You.  And another blogging friend – Amanda, from Cooker and a Looker is travelling up just to attend the day – what a bloody legend.  See the internet really is breaking down the barriers of distance.

So it is full steam ahead at the moment my friends, no rest for the wicked.  I had best go and put some washing on, pull my finger out and get sorted.

Are you ready to follow along with our road trip?  Gosh it is going to be fun!
Have you travelled this route?
Have you been to Lake Argyle?

Miss Chardy, I can’t believe you are travelling all this way just for one night! It took my hubby and I about two weeks to drive from Kununurra (via Lake Argyle) across to Katherine and then eventually down to Tenant Creek. But I must admit I found the drive very interesting. That pub at Daly Waters was a big highlight. We stayed the night in the caravan park next door. Have fun!!

Ha ha ha, it sure is somewhere… it is somewhere in the middle of nowhere, ha ha ha ha. Did you see Barkly HS written on the map? So you will be 4.5 hours from Mt Isa and 2 hours from Tennant Creek. Bring it on!!!
