Wow… I have had a crazy couple of weeks. In the last 12 days I have driven thousands upon thousands of km’s and met some amazing women along the way. From the NT to WA to QLD and back to the NT.
There is so much to tell you and I just haven’t been able to find the time or energy to pump out a blog post about it all so I thought I would start here, with a quick little catch up. Say hi and just touch base. I will then do a series of posts about the international interstate travel I have undertaken. I may have to call the series “From my dashboard” because that is where most of the photos have been taken from – me sitting behind the steering wheel snapping shots all over the top end.
Here is a little teaser to whet your appetite about what’s been going down in Chardy Town…
Topped off by a fabulous weekend at The Barkly Homestead for Barkly Women’s Day. Oh what a weekend that was. So many fabulous women it wasn’t even funny. I bought my blogging friends to the outback and boy am I glad I did. We had so much fun. See…
So stay tuned my friends and I will tell you all about my trip to Kununurra for the No Borders Rural Women’s Day. I think that may take a couple of posts (maybe more) – it was a 5 day road trip with two wonderful women. Followed by a recap of the Barkly Women’s Day weekend.
How have you all been? It seems live forever since we have chatted.
Can you even believe it is the middle of November. My goodness.
I always love your travels mainly because you do it with ease and make it sound like you are going just around the corner! I hate being stuck in the car I find it so unproductive lol (not that I would be any more productive if I wasn’t in the car) and given I hate flying with a passion it really does mean that the car is the travel transport. I think I am going to have to get over my hatred of car travel given that we are travelling from Wollongong to Port Macquarie for Christmas (6hrs – so just around the corner for you) … Maybe you could do a post just for me on your tips for long car trips. xoxo
Hi Cat, to tell you the truth often my travels are really just around the corner, just that the “corner” is sometimes 100km’s away. Oh bring it on, I will do a post just for you Cat… 6 hours – piece of cake, you will smash it. Well actually 6 hours for you travelling up that highway is very very different to 6 hours of my travel. Going to Kununurra we figured that we only turned a few times.. we went right, right, left, right and then left. That was it – 1,480km. ha ha ha ha. Oh and not much traffic either – all the grey nomads are tucked up in cooler climates.
Love that you were able to spend so much time with fellow bloggers from across the country.
It was just so great Sandra.
Simply amazing!!
Sure was Vicki.
Finally I’ve made it to the Chardy party! The weekend with the wonderful women was the BEST of all that is Aussie! Looking forward to more stories when you catch your breath!
Yay, welcome to the Chardy Party… so glad you are here Denyse.
So glad you had such a wonderful trip, meeting inspiring ladies of the Top End. Looking forward to your next chats about the trip. I find the difference in our lifestyles polar opposites. My children are adults, I live in the suburbs of Melbourne, and aching for a lifestyle change. I finally made it to Innaminka, Birdsville, Muloorina Station, this year and found it all amazing.
You write so well, with a touch of humour. I imagine, that remote life and being a mum of a very active young family has its moments. Thanks for sharing a little of your life with us all.
Hello Helen, I am so happy you enjoy reading my little blog. Lovely to hear from you. That is wonderful that you made it out to the Channel Country and loved it. Yes my life certainly does have its moments but I am not alone there am I, everyone is in the same boat there. Thanks again for reading.
