Ridley Barkly Women’s Day 2017

November 20, 2017

A few weeks ago now (where does the time go, seriously???) we had the Ridley Barkly Women’s Day.  I have written many posts about this day in previous years and you can read all about them here:

Of course, this year did not disappoint.  It was such a fabulous day with 2 great guest speakers, both Mt Isa locals.  We had Sheree Thomas who spoke to us about doTerra Essential Oils and Eleanor Hammond – Psychic, Medium, Author.  Fascinating stuff.  Eleanor did a few quick readings on the day and I was lucky enough to have a full reading the night before.

Like always we headed down on the Friday afternoon to greet the guest speakers and just so we didn’t have to get up at 4am on the Saturday and travel in.  The weather was looking a bit dodgy and we were very grateful once we were on the bitumen.

KICS (Katherine Isolated Children’s Services) were there once again to look after the kids and do a playgroup and fun activities with them.  This is such a wonderful service and allows the Mum’s a chance to enjoy themselves without a nagging gorgeous child by their side.  Jamie and Liz come all the way from Katherine and let me tell you Katherine is not that close my friends… probably close to 1,000km’s away, possibly more!!!  But as I always say – distance doesn’t really mean much in the Territory.

I love to snort a bit of eucalyptus oil, really clears the head…

We had such a wonderful bunch of women turn up for the day, just a great easy going, fun crowd.  Oh and guess what, some friends even flew out for the day in their plane.  What legends.  It was so fabulous to have this fun bunch of women turn up…

Just popped interstate for the day, you know – as you do!  Talk about travelling in comfort too!

They are from all around… a station in the Gulf near Burketown, a station near Cloncurry, a station near Dajarra, Mt Isa and Cloncurry. Thanks so much for making the effort and I am so sorry you had to travel in such discomfort, I meant this would have been just terrible, check out the conditions they had to suffer through…

I can’t believe they didn’t pack a bottle of bubbles for the in flight refreshments.  Who are they?

Of course I stayed up way to late both nights catching up with long lost friends but hey – you can sleep when you’re dead right?!  I have since caught up so it is all good.

This day would not be possible without our generous sponsor.  Thank you to all of our wonderful sponsors…
