Miss Chardy Girls Night Out in Brisbane – The Recap

February 14, 2018

While we were down in Brisbane dropping our oldest boy back at school I thought “hey – why not squeeze something else in and overcommit”.  So I did.  I organised a girls night out with some Miss Chardy blog readers.

Ok so some of those lovely ladies are actually my friends but that is beside the point.

It was an intimate gathering of 25 at The Library Bar – Hillstone, St Lucia Golf Links.  It was all so very easy to organise and I could not fault this fabulous venue.  I would go back there in a heart beat, it was just beautiful.

Welcome drinks and canapés on the terrace overlooking the stunning golf course and then dinner and dessert and more wine inside, where we all sat, chatted and laughed around one big dining table.  I thought I had best get up and just say a few words, which seemed to turn into me banging on for about half an hour – somebody stop me!

This photo that my lovely friend – Nikki from Styling You – took sums up the whole evening I think – lots of laughter (with a dash of pink and spots of course) …

Most of the women were from Brisbane but there were 3 lovely ladies who travelled a long way to be there.  Ruth came down from a property near Rolleston and Kristin & Emma travelled down from Baralaba.  And I am so glad you did, it was so fabulous to meet you.

Merryn & Ruth

The evening was a mix of friends, fellow bloggers and readers who I had not met before.  Just such a fun bunch of women.  Here are my virtual friends… my blogging friends if you will.

Nikki from Styling You and Kirsten from Kirsten & Co (and Skin Boss)…

And the gorgeous Andrea from Sublime Finds

And Kylie from DIY Decorator and Robyna from The Mummy and the Minx …

Each guest went home with a little goodie bag with some of my favourite things in it – oh and would you look at that – pink and white spots…

Everyone got a little bottle of Di Ridge’s Poppy Seed Salad Dressing, a jar of homemade Chutney (Mr Chardy’s Dad’s recipe made by yours truly and DD), a giant ice cube tray, some Skin Boss Oil samples and some doTerra Oil samples.  A massive thank you to Di Ridge, Kirsten Smith and Sheree Thomas for kindly supplying the Salad Dressing & Oils.

All in all it was such a fun night and I can’t thank all of these wonderful women enough for coming along.  It was so fantastic to meet you all and share a wine with you.  Thanks a million!

As everyone was getting ready to leave Ruth (who had travelled down from up near Rolleston) handed me a gift bag and said it was  a little present for me.  I was a little embarrassed but very thankful.  I took it home and opened it the next morning over a coffee.

I was absolutely gobsmacked when I saw what was in it… a stunning white linen dress…

Can you believe it.  I am in love with this dress.  It is Ruth’s own label – Freddy & Poll and is 100% linen, beautiful quality and lined too!  But I think this dress deserves its very own blog post, don’t you?!

So there you have it my friends… the very first Miss Chardy Event.  It was so much fun, thanks again for making the effort to come and drink wine with me ladies, I really appreciate it.  Thanks also to Kari Coombes from Hillstone St Lucia for putting together such a fabulous event – it was just perfect.
