Horse School, Store Truck & School Holidays

September 25, 2018

Well it has been a good week my friends.  Last week we hosted a 3 day horse school here at Chardy central.  It was  a great 3 days and a solid 3 days of pumping out copious amounts of food.  So much food.  But it was good fun.

Last Wednesday we welcomed our very first store truck.  What an exciting day.  You know what trips to town of late have looked like so this was a very happy day indeed.  For the past couple of years getting stores has not been easy.  We have never lived on a store truck route so it involved a 10 hour round trip (actually probably longer) to town to collect our gear, loads of esky and lots of swearing.  And don’t even get me started on tying it all down.

One of my Miss Chardy readers from Mount Isa –  Tricia – has started working for Hawkins Transport and she was determined to get us a truck.  And that she did.  I still wouldn’t believe it until I actually saw the truck with my very own beady little eyes.  But, just as she had promised Syd (the truck driver) rolled on in last Wednesday with the refrigerated truck.  Shut up!!!!!!!!!

It sure beats the hell out of travelling to and from town and unloading 3 massive esky’s at 11pm.  Thanks so much Tricia, Hawkins Transport and Syd.  Please come back!  If there is anyone out there who lives up this way – or in the Gulf of QLD and you need a store truck just give them a call.  0498 019 071 or email mtisa@hawkinsqld.com.au – tell them Chards sent you.

As soon as the horse school was over it was time to head to town.  School was done for the year and Harry and Clancy needed a trip to the dentist.  We were due to collect Tom from the plane – home from holidays too.  So killed two birds with the one stone.  Don’t trips to the dentist just kill you?  If there is one place I hate it is the dentist and I knew it wasn’t going to be pretty.  Clancy had a filling that part of had fallen out and I thought Harry needed a tooth pulled out.  Yes, I was correct – hundreds of dollars later, two numb mouths and we were done.

Anyway, it is so great to have Tom home.  Clancy is basically glued to him and doesn’t leave his side.  Follows him around everywhere.  It’s pretty cute.  They have been out on their motorbikes and riding horses. Tom gets taller every time he comes home and is nearly as tall as me.

Gosh the years really do go fast don’t they.  He will be 14 in December.  FOURTEEN!!!!  Can you believe we are 3 months out from Christmas…. seriously 3 months today.  What the actual!!!!  I really don’t know where this year has gone, every time I blink we are either half way through of fully through another month.

Have a great day lovely people.

Thanks for the update Miss Chardy and good luck organising your conference venture. Sounds a great idea for all of you who are so far away from the cities

Hi Robbsie – it is so very exciting. The neighbours already get a service but they wouldn’t come up here, so thank goodness for Hawkins Transport.
