Hello – Update

November 1, 2018

Hello there my friends, how are you?  Can you even believe it is the first day of November already???  I think I am still stuck in about June or July.  2018 has just slipped away before my eyes.  Do you feel the same?  My kids have around 4 weeks of school left for crying out loud.  That means Tom will be finished his second year at boarding school and will be about to head into year 9 and Harry will be finished School of the Air and ready to head to boarding school – leaving us!  Don’t worry – Clancy will be going into year 2 which means he is still with us for another 5 years!!!

I mean, before I know it I will have a kid in year 12 – WHAT??!!!

Yet again it has been so long between blogs that I don’t know where to start so I am just going to blab on about what’s been happening.  So much to tell really.

First I think we need to chat about something very close to all of our hearts – Devondale long life cream.  Yes my friends, it really is coming back.  This week in fact!  I have a phone meeting with Devondale today actually.  I feel like we have really made a difference, we have rallied and they have listened and now it is coming back.  Well done everyone.  Stay tuned for some giveaways and more info.  This is such exciting news!

In other news, am the station cook and have been doing that since mid August – gosh, that is quite a while ago now isn’t it.  I have a lovely backpacker helping me until mid December with other jobs that don’t get done while I am cooking and doing the jobs I usually do.  Her name is Lisa and she is for Germany and it is really nice to have her around.

I just had a look to see when my last catch up blog post was and it was 25 September – so I only have a month to catch you up on.

October – boy where did that month go?  We had Tennant Creek campdraft, then I dropped Tom back in Mt Isa to fly back to school after holidays.  Then it was back into Mt Isa mid October for Rock Pop Mime – this is a show that happens once a year in Mt Isa.  Lots of the schools in town put on a performance.  All the town schools practice for months and months, the little school of the air kids practice for the 2 days beforehand and they did such a great job.  It was just Harry and I which was nice.  We got to catch up with all of our friends.

Then it was home for 3 days and back into town last week to take Harry down to Brisbane for his boarding school interview and sleepover orientation.  He seemed to enjoy it.  We had such a lovely bread down in Brisbane, I always love my time down there with my Brookfield friends.  Just such a gorgeous part of Brisbane.

I went to the movies with my lovely friend Di and the gorgeous Nikki from Styling You.  It was such fun.  We went to The Barracks.  It was the type of cinema that had a bar and you could sip wine during the movie and nibble from a cheese platter – um – HELLO.  Yep, I know I live under a rock and yes this was the first time I have been to a cinema like this, god help me.  Gosh it was a nice afternoon.  We then headed to a lovely restaurant for a few more wines and some more nibbles.  Just such a fun afternoon and evening.

On Sunday Ed and I (remember Ed, I wrote about how we met her HERE) took Di for a belated Birthday Lunch at The Hundred Acre Bar at St Lucia Golf Links.  It was all sorts of fabulous.  I mean with a view like this how can you go wrong?  We were celebrating a special birthday that ends in a zero.

Haz and I flew back to Mt Isa on Tuesday and back to reality, driving home that same day and arriving in around 9pm.  The hard thud.  Now it is time to get back into the swing of things and feed the people and get ready for Melbourne Cup Day.  What are you up to for Cup Day?  Anything special.

I am also desperately trying to maintain some sort of exercise regime which is hard the routine is interrupted with town trips.  I find it really difficult to keep going.  I think I have ben trying to get back on track since returning from New York in May!!!  Now it is November and I feel the same way at Beth over at Baby Mac.  #notafatmoleforchristmas – Beth started this a few years ago now, well it feels like it was just last year but I think it was more like 2 or 3 years ago.  It is a vicious cycle isn’t it.  Before you know it another year has past.  So here I am back on the exercise wagon and back on board with Joy’s Off the Track Training.  Thank god for that little pocket rocket.

Speaking of Baby Mac – some exciting news over on that blog.  Beth has launched her own online store called Add to Cart.  She is basically Oprah and has all of her favourite things in there.  Well done Beth, I am so excited for you!!!  Guys, this is the perfect place to start your Christmas shopping, so many fabulous pieces, tried and tested.  Too easy!!!

There is so much more that I need to catch you up on.  I have been working on the Event I will be holding in Mt Isa next year and it has grown a life of its own – wow.  I can’t wait to share it with you, it is going to be huge.  We have locked in a date – 8th MARCH 2019.  This also happens to be International Women’s Day – perfect.  It is going to be a day jam packed full of inspirational speakers, stalls and just all round top chicks.  You won’t want to miss it.  I can’t wait to share all of the details with you.

But for now that will do, I think I have banged on for long enough.
