This is a super easy and yummy recipe. I really only ever made the apple crumble, but the other day I found I was out of tinned apples so I made pear crumble and guess what… it was actually yummier than the apple crumble, I kid you not, and I am not all that fond of pears, truth be known. So now I prefer a pear crumble. Here is the recipe…
PrintApple or Pear Crumble
Ingredients
2 tins pie apple or tinned pears
1/2 cup sugar (I use half white and half brown sugar)
2 tablespoons butter
Cinnamon
1/2 cup plain flour
Instructions
Place pie apple in a greased pie dish and add a pinch or two or cinnamon. I also sprinkle some brown sugar over the pie apple.
Rub together sugar, flour and butter so the texture resembles son mixture, then crumble.
Place the crumble on top of the pie pieces and heat in a moderate oven until the crumble mixture has turned a warm brown.
Serve with custard, cream and ice-cream. (You can add coconut, rolled oats or muesli to make the crumble).
