I know I say this every single week, but seriously – where is the year going? How can it be the 10th August already? I managed a little getaway over to my friend Shelly’s Trek West Stockcamp last week and gosh it was good. Turns out it is my holiday destination of choice for 2020 because I have probably been over there camping more times than I have been to town. It is a great place to be too! I got to catch up with my friend Nikki, from Styling You, who was doing one of Shell’s hikes with a group of friends, they were such a great bunch of women and I had such a wonderful time with them.
Ok well I guess we should talk food. I think since I started intermittent fasting I have enjoyed cooking even more – I can’t believe I am even saying that. If you had told me 3 years ago that I would be cooking and loving it I would have laughed in your face. Isn’t it funny where life takes you. Now I am loving cooking even more when I am in the fasted state – what is with that? It makes me appreciate dinner and want to make something really worthy to eat. I will be dropping a blog post all about Intermittent Fasting on Wednesday, as I have had quite a few people message me to ask just how they go about doing it, so this will give you all the info and where to start. But until then I guess we should talk meal plans for this week. This is what we are eating…
I also have a fresh batch of butterfly cakes on hand for the crew to take out with them if they are packing a lunch. I use Manda’s Butter Cake on page 27 of Miss Chardy’s Guide to Station Cooking cookbook for these. I also have some choc chip cookies and caramel slice on hand and some tea-cake.
What is cooking at your place this week? Hope you had a fab weekend. Let’s get into it my friends.
