Well it has finally happened. It is official – I am addicted to Offspring. I never thought I would say this. You see a while ago now I purchased the first season on DVD. Everyone seemed to love it and I wanted to know what all the fuss was about. I needed some company during the wet season and thought this would be perfect, I mean to say – I had about a million seasons to catch up on and all. Things didn’t go as planned, I watched 2 episodes and couldn’t watch another one. I found Nina beyond annoying, with all of her self doubt and little voices in her head. I just couldn’t bear to watch another episode. Until this season on TV. I watched an episode one night earlier this season and bam, I was hooked.
So yes, I am on board and look forward to Offspring each week and even like Nina and all the little voices in her head. You know you are getting old when your idea of a good night involves putting the children & husband to bed and staying up late, all by yourself with a glass of wine and some bad food watching a double episode of Offspring that you had previously recorded. The season finale is just about upon us and I have only just started watching, surely this can’t be the very end can it?
I must say though, I am still confused how Norman Gunstan fits into things……who the hell is Phillip. Can someone PLEASE tell me. I am going to have to go back to the beginning and watch it all, aren’t I?!?! And how did Zara suddenly end up with 2 children. Have I missed something, have I had a huge blow to the head? I thought she only just had her first baby with ol’ what’s his name (ok, so I haven’t been watching it for that long and don’t know Nina’s brothers name) and they got married while she was giving birth? I am so confused. Please help.
And what about Thomas….what is going to happen there do you think? What a low down dirty dog, or is he? Is there a perfectly good explanation? Surely not! I prefer Leo anyway. Oh and Lawrence…..I have the biggest crush on him, what a spunk! So clean cut. I am really disappointed that Billy has ditched him, he was so good for her. Do you think I would feel this way if I had watched it right from the beginning?
So there is my dirty little secret and confession. I love Offspring. Now – please chime in and comment with your Offspring updates – who the hell is Phillip?

Some good questions there Miss Chardy. I only started watching last season, also due to Nikki’s Nina Outfit posts. Hmmm…Phillip, I am thinking he is Nina’s Mothers Ex but not the Father of any of the children – that appears to be John Waters. Thomas never appealed to me, I hope he goes. I found the Patrick dream scenes very annoying but they seem to have ceased – thank goodness. I really like Leo – a lot ;-). I really like Billie’s Husband. Not a fan of Lawrence – he reminds me of Bec’s boyfriend from Winners and Losers (which I watch sometimes) …bit wimpy maybe?
You are ahead of me then, I only started this season! I was thinking that they are not 100% sure if Phillip is Nina’s father or not, does that make sense. I am so bloody confused, he just appears and I have no idea who he is. And what about Zara and the 2 children, what is the go there? I was sure she only just had her first baby (and they got married during the birth?????). I hope Leo and Nina get together!
I can help with Zara, they had a oneish sized child when I started watching. Don’t see it very often. Still wondering who the bloody hell Phillip is…

Phillip is Nina’s father – conceived as a result of an affair Geraldine had in response to Darcy’s affairs back in the day.
Zara and Jimmy had baby Alfie last season but Patrick was conceived around the some of Nina’s Patrick’s death.

I knew it, I have been trying to figure it out and I suspected that Phillip was Nina’s father…..they are just such a normal family aren’t they, ha ha ha ha!!! I can’t believe I am just figuring it all out right at the end…do you think there will be another season? So do Zara and Jimmy have 2 babies or just one? Thanks for catching me up!!!
