Style in the Outback – Shopping: Worn Out West

February 16, 2016

Do you need a wardrobe update but live too far from town?  Or maybe you live in the City and just can’t find any good old fashioned country clothing.  Don’t let that stop you, there are no excuses.  Our friends in at Worn Out West have everything you need.  Hannah and Sos will have you sorted out in no time at all.  Here, look – aren’t they just the biggest spunks you have ever seen…

Hannah & Sos

Now, lets get shopping. I have taken it upon myself to sort you out with 2 ensembles… one for work and one for play.  Ladies – I thought we had best rug up for the play version so you don’t freeze at all of those camp drafts and to the millions of male readers I no doubt have (ha ha ha) I have you sorted for casual summer wear.

Perhaps you are heading up here to Jillaroo and not quite sure what to wear, don’t worry – we will have you sorted in no time and will make sure you don’t look like a complete tosser so take note.  Oh and FYI – no matter how many airports sell leather hats in outback shops – they are NEVER  a good idea, never.

PLAY

WOW Dress Outfit1.  Cruel Jeans Abby Copper – $115.00  2. Goondiwindi Cotton White Blouse – $109.90   3. RM Williams Sheyville Merino Wool Cape – $260.00   4. Ariat Chandler Dark Bay Boots $275.00

How gorgeous are those boots – they would look great over some skinny leg jeans or even with a skirt, so versatile and such a classic look.  Think I might have to invest in a pair.

WORK

WOW Work Wear

1. Cinch Jenna Jeans – $105.00   2. Swag – $305.00   3. Knife belt – $89.95   4. Ariat Portland Slip on’s – $179.95   5. Ariat Heritage Boots $225.00   6. Akubra Arena Hat – $159.00 (on sale)   7. Thomas Cook Work Shirt – $49.95

We bought Tom and Harry one of those swags each for Christmas.  They are the best swags, so comfy.  Mrs Savvy B got me onto them.  Mr Chardy even bought one last time he was in town.  If you are looking for a good swag check them out.  Of course I didn’t get the boys a purple one.  They have lots of colours… green, blue, red, black.  I might be needing a new pair of those Ariat slip ons too because they are the ones that Tom stole from me and has now ruined.  Thanks Tom!

Now for the men.  Same rule applies… no leather hats please boys.  Trust me, I am saving you a lot of grief here.

So are you heading up north to become a Jackaroo or Jillaroo?  If I have saved just one person from wearing a leather hat I feel my work here is done.

Those Ariat boots look fabulous, so I checked out their range – amazing choices! My girlfriend and her partner have just moved to the Isa, they arrived yesterday and have asked for some help to unpack. Sounds like a good excuse for a visit and a shopping trip. What do you think Chards?

I love those Ariat boots. Yes, you will definitely have to go and visit your friend! Nothing worse than unpacking – you need to help her!

Hahaha. I am hearing you with the leather hat. Aren’t they precious! This shop sounds great. Will have to have a look, especially for the boys Canterbury boys shorts. I have trouble trying to buy these.

Hi Mel, not sure if you can buy the Canterbury shorts online through Worn out West but you could definitely call them. Otherwise I find the actual Canterbury website good for kids shorts.

I discovered half button up work shirts when out west and loved them … particuarly the fact that the gaps between the buttons don’t catch on anything. I would love a new Akubra, mine has shrunk 🙁
